MTC Friends . . .

Susie and I have been attending classes at the Provo MTC (Mission Training Center) for several months now. Susie is doing great on her Spanish. We have been so grateful for the help we receive from our teachers and other MTC volunteers that we had a group up for dinner last night. Though most of them are from Mexico, Peru was also represented. We prepared a "mexican dinner" and were given passing grades from all. It was a wonderful evening. I can't tell you enough how impressed we are with the professionalism and skill of these MTC workers. They're the best!

Dear President and Sister Lovell,
I was excited to see your blog as my son Christopher Nash just recieved his call last week to serve in the Osorno, Chile mission and reports to the MTC on the 3rd of Sept. It is great to learn a little about you and also about the mission. It sounds like a wonderful place, even with the valcano's right? Chris is very excited about his call. We are actually from close by in Provo, so I hope to meet you sometime in the future. Thank you for this blog, it is a wonderful way to keep updated.

It's great to see you guys getting ready! We have some friends from Rexburg who have been called as Mission President. We are very excited for them, though they are rather aprehensive due to never having served a mission when younger. You'll have to keep an eye out for Rudy and LeeAnn Puzey when you report with the other mission presidents... they are probably the nicest folks you'll ever meet.

Once again, it's great to hear how you guys are doing.

Surprise hello! Remember me? I was Cindy Moon back in Sapulpa a LOOOOOONG time ago. Anyway, we are coming to your farewell and can't wait to see you again. We're wishing you the best of luck and a great mission experience.

We are the Hamiltons. Howard and Karleen... Howard served a mission in Chile under Presidents Sharp, Palmer and Beecroft between 1961 and 1964. We visit Chile periodically and, in fact, have built a home in Llanqhihue, a city about 50 miles south on Ruta 5 from the mission home in Osorno. Your office coordinators, Elder and Sister Allen, are close friends and, in fact, the parents of our son in law to youngest daughter Tirsa, who also served a mission on Chile (Vina del Mar). The Allens are very talented and will be a great help in getting your oriented.

We are coming down mid November for several months and look forward to meeting you. You will be serving in an incredible country and a beautiful, though very big, mission area. Hasta entonces...buena suerte y adelante!

Greetings, I hope this reaches an LDS member in the Chile Osorno Mission field. My wife and I are moving to Chile South, hopefully in the Valdivia / Villrica district area...2nd alternative: ViƱa del Mar.
My wife is native Chilean and I from USA. We are semi-retired and active in the church, currently Costa Rica. REQUEST: Can someone tell me if there is a ward/branch that has English/many members who speak English? I am working on Spanish but would sincerely appreciate someone already at the above locations who speak freely in English. Your help appreciated.

ps.We plan to be in Chile the end of this August 08.
